A meteorological department official said today that cold winds from the country’s north swept across Rajasthan, with lowest temperatures in Fatehpur and Churu dropping below freezing.
The weather department official informed the Press Trust of India that temperatures in Rajasthan dropped by one degree Celsius on Friday night. The government has also issued a cold wave warning for numerous regions of Rajasthan, he said.

According to the meteorological (MeT) department, the minimum temperature in Fatehpur, Sikar, was – 3.3 degrees Celsius, and in neighbouring Churu, it was minus 1.1 degrees Celsius.

In other parts of Rajasthan, the minimum night temperature was 0.3 degrees Celsius in Nagaur, 0.7 degrees Celsius in Sangaria and Sikar, 1 degree Celsius in Bhilwara, 1.1 degrees Celsius in Ganganagar, 1.9 degrees Celsius in Pilani, and 2.7 degrees Celsius in Chittorgarh.

According to the MeT department, the minimum temperature in majority of the state’s districts has dropped below five degrees Celsius.

On Friday, the highest temperature ranged from 13.5 degrees Celsius to 24.2 degrees Celsius.

On Friday night, the state capital of Jaipur recorded a minimum temperature of 4.9 degrees Celsius.

In the next days, the weather agency has issued a “Orange Alert” for severe cold wave conditions in numerous parts of the state.
