Waukesha Police Chief Dan Thompson said at a press conference Sunday evening that a red SUV drove into the town’s Christmas parade at 4:39 p.m. local time.

A vehicle allegedly linked to the event has been discovered, and investigators are looking into a possible person of interest.

According to Thompson, victims were carried to hospitals by ambulances, police officers, and family members.

There are no more risks to the neighbourhood, according to authorities, and the scene is now safe.

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers posted on Twitter, “Kathy and I are praying for Waukesha tonight and all the kids, families, and community members affected by this horrific act.” “I appreciate the first responders and those who acted immediately to assist, and we’re in contact with local partners while we wait for additional details.”

The investigation is still underway.
