Actress Jacqueline Fernandez was detained by immigration officials at Mumbai Airport today due to a LOC (Look Out Circular). In the Sukesh Chandrasekar case, the Enforcement Directorate has issued a LOC against the actor. Ms Fernandez wanted to attend a concert in Dubai. She was released after a brief interrogation and told that she would have to appear before a Delhi-based investigation agency.
The ED will issue a new summons to her for tomorrow’s appearance at the Delhi office.
In the 200-crore money laundering case, the probe agency has filed a charge sheet in a Delhi court against conman Sukesh Chandrasekar and others, saying that he extorted Rs 200 crore from a businessman’s wife while imprisoned in Tihar Prison. Evidence of financial transfers from Chandrasekar to Ms Fernandez has been discovered by the central agency. According to sources, Chandrashekar sent Ms Fernandez a horse costing 52 lakh and a Persian cat worth 9 lakh as part of a ten-crore gift package.
Sukesh’s claimed proceeds of crime reaching the Bollywood star are still being investigated, and the actor will be questioned again.
Along with Ms. Fernandez, actor Nora Fatehi has been questioned in the case, according to the charging sheet. Ms Fernandez and her entourage have also been interrogated.
Chandrashekar had previously told the media that he had given Ms Fatehi a car.
Nora Fatehi’s representative has previously stated that she “had been a victim.” “She has been called by ED to solely help with the investigation and does not know or have any personal connection with the accused,” the representation stated, adding that the actor is participating in the inquiry.
