From the 2022-23 academic year, admission to Delhi University will be through the Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) or the Delhi University Common Entrance Test (DUCET) (DUCET). On December 17, the University’s Executive Council issued a notification informing the public of the change in the DU admissions procedure. The university will issue a set of guidelines and procedures for admissions via CUCET or DUCET in the near future.
Today, DU issued a statement that stated, “At its meeting on December 17, 2021, the University of Delhi’s Executive Council decided that admissions to all Under-Graduate (UG) Courses at the University of Delhi would be made through the Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) or the Delhi University Common Entrance Test (DUCET) (DUCET). In due course, more information on the CUCET / DUCET will be given.”
In an interview with NDTV, Vice-Chancellor Professor Yogesh Singh said: “The test would be divided into two halves. The first portion of the test will be a general aptitude test, and the second half will feature numerous combinations and possibilities.”
Previously, DU UG admission was based on merit — results from the Class 12 board exam.
