After 30 people tested positive for Covid-19, Mahindra University was put on lockdown

According to the district’s Deputy Medical Officer, at least 30 people have tested positive for Covid at Mahindra University in Telangana’s Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

Twenty-five students and five members of the teaching staff have tested positive for Covid-19. The victims have been placed in isolation and are being treated in hospitals. Their symptoms are regarded to be non-life threatening.

The Mahindra University campus has been placed on lockdown, with all 1,700 students and faculty members being instructed to remain at home. Varsity officials claim that everyone has been adequately immunised.

Academic activities will resume only after the campus and accommodations have been thoroughly cleaned.

The private university campus is sponsored by Mahindra Educational Institutions, a subsidiary of Tech Mahindra, and is located in Bahadurpally, near Hyderabad.
