The father of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Samir Wankhede, who rose to prominence during the probe of the Aryan Khan drugs case, has filed a new complaint in the Bombay High Court against Maharashtra minister and senior NCP politician Nawab Malik. Gyandev Wankhede, Sameer’s father, has accused Nawab Malik of making disparaging statements about his family.
Nawab Malik has previously stated that he would refrain from commenting on the Wankhede family until the High Court’s ruling. It’s worth noting that Samir Wankhede was charged with extortion on behalf of Maharashtra government minister Nawab Malik in the drug case. He also accused Sameer Wankhede of obtaining employment through the use of a forged certificate. Sameer Wankhede, according to Nawab Malik, wears magnificent watches, clothes, and shoes. He had also enquired about the property with Sameer Wankhede.
On the occasion of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s death anniversary, NCB Regional Director Samir Wankhede paid a visit to his memorial on Monday. Following that, Wankhede told reporters that Ambedkar had motivated him to “fight for the truth” and that he was confident of prevailing. Meanwhile, Malik claimed, without identifying Wankhede, that “some people” have started coming to ‘Chaitya Bhoomi,’ where Ambedkar was cremated, because of his fight.
Wankhede raided a cruise ship in October of this year, claiming to have confiscated cocaine from the vessel. In this case, Aryan Khan, the son of star Shahrukh Khan, and others are implicated. Following the operation, Malik made various accusations against Wankhede, including that the NCB officer was a Muslim by birth and used a forged document to obtain a government post. Wankhede, he argued, did not belong to the Scheduled Castes. These charges were refuted by Wankhede.
Wankhede paid homage to Ambedkar, the author of the Indian Constitution and a social reformer, at the ‘Chaitya Bhoomi’ memorial in Dadar, Mumbai, on Monday. Later, an NCB official informed reporters, “Babasaheb (Ambedkar) is a hero of ours. Today will bolster our ‘Sangharsh’ efforts (fight). I’ve come here (to Chaityabhoomi) on the anniversary of his death…his ideas has had a significant influence on me. He is the only source of motivation.”
