Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), hit back at the Congress on Tuesday, stating that while 15 legislators had resigned ahead of the Goa Assembly elections, the “final stock” of two is available at a “huge discount.”

He further claimed that Goa is a first-class state with politicians that are “third-class.”

Mr. Kejriwal’s comments come a day after Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, the working president of the Goa Congress, resigned on Monday, making him the 15th Congress MLA to leave in the last five years. On Tuesday, he joined Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Kolkata.

“I’m not a political person, and I’m not a Goa political person.” I was on my way somewhere the other day. “Congress had three MLAs while I was boarding an aircraft, but when the flight landed, Congress had two MLAs,” the AAP national convener stated during a public meeting in Panaji.

He said that 15 of the 17 Congress MLAs elected by the people of Goa in 2017 have been sold, leaving only two.

“It’s the last of the supply…

There isn’t much stock left. This stock is available at a significant discount. Those who choose to take the final stock may do so. “This is the Congress’s condition in Goa,” the Delhi chief minister stated.

He predicted that after the elections in March of next year, a new batch of MLAs would arrive.

Goa, according to Mr. Kejriwal, is a first-class state with third-class politicians.

“Goa’s people are nice, but its politicians are even worse. “Goa deserves better people,” the AAP leader declared, urging people to vote for his party in the February elections.

Mr. Kejriwal claimed that horse-trading of MLAs was once common, but that today poll candidates are being sold as well.

“We have seen how they jump from one party to another. We have heard how some candidates are being sold for crores,” he said.

Mr. Kejriwal stated that the AAP designed the Goa development plan after consulting locals.

He said that the AAP will become the state’s first “corruption-free” government. “We guarantee you that not a single rupee will be stolen off.” If the AAP wins, there will be no tolerance for corruption in Goa,” he stated.

There is no shortage of revenue in Goa, according to Mr. Kejriwal, but it does not percolate down for development due to corruption.

He claimed that both the BJP and the Congress did not want the mining business to resume because “their objectives are not appropriate.” “Within six months of coming to power in Goa, the AAP will restart the mining industry,” he claimed.

He reaffirmed the AAP’s vow to pay 5,000 per month in payment to each family of mining dependents till the mining business resumed.

The Congress party gained 17 seats in the 2017 Goa Assembly elections, making it the single largest party. However, the BJP, which won 13 seats, rapidly formed a coalition with regional parties and independents to create the state’s government. The AAP had come up empty-handed.

Ravi Naik, the former chief minister of Goa, resigned as a Congress MLA earlier this month.

Ex-CM Luizinho Faleiro left the Congress a few months ago and joined the TMC, which has decided to run in the Goa Assembly elections.
