On Saturday, the Bangladesh apex trade group hosted the ‘Bangladesh Business Summit 2023’ in collaboration with the Bangladeshi government.
The three-day conference was held as part of attempts to strengthen the country’s expanding trade, commerce, and investment sectors.
The summit was launched by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to honor the Golden Jubilee of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the country’s largest business group.
The summit is being held at Dhaka’s Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC), also known as the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center, and is organized by the FBCCI in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Commerce Ministry, and the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA).
Ministers from seven nations, including the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, China, Bhutan, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as top executives from 12 global corporations and more than 200 international investors and business leaders from 17 countries, are attending the conference.
The FBCCI says that the summit’s goal is to highlight Bangladesh’s economic and market strengths as well as real trade and investment opportunities by bringing together national and international business leaders, investors, policymakers, practitioners, policy and market analysts, academics, and innovators.
