The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2022) application procedure will begin on January 1, 2022. Once the application process begins, candidates who are eligible to take the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) can apply at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The application portal will be active until the 31st of March.

CLAT 2022 is set to take place on May 8th. There will be considerable modifications in the exam mode starting in 2022. In May, the National Law Universities (NLUs) will hold a law entrance exam, followed by another in December. The counselling price has also been reduced; the revised fee for the general category will be Rs 30,000, down from Rs 50,000 previously. The cost for reserved category candidates is Rs 20,000.

CLAT 2022: Eligibility

Applicants having a 45 percent (40 percent in the case of SC, ST candidates) or comparable grade in the Class 12 exam are eligible to apply for the UG CLAT. Candidates who take the qualifying exam in March or April 2021 will be able to take CLAT 2022 as well. They will, however, be required to show proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, or their right to be considered for admission would be forfeited.

Candidates for CLAT PG must have completed an LLB or similar degree with a minimum of 50% or equivalent grade. The required score for applicants from the SC and ST categories is 45 percent.

There is no upper age limit for CLAT 2021 applicants.

CLAT UG 2022: Paper Pattern

The CLAT UG law paper is divided into five sections: Verbal Ability, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude, all of which contain comprehension problems. Four to five comprehension texts may be included in each segment, followed by a set of multiple choice questions. The exam will take two hours to complete.

CLAT UG 2022: Syllabus

The CLAT UG paper in 2022 will include 150 questions. There will be 100 one-mark questions and two essay-style questions at 25 points each. Constitutional Law, as well as other fields of law such as Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Contract Law, Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Tax Law, Environmental Law, and Labour and Industrial Law, are all covered in the CLAT UG course.

Candidates can apply for CLAT 2022 by following the easy steps outlined below:

  • Visit CLAT’s official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
  • Click the register link on the homepage and input your cellphone number and password.
  • Now, use your credentials to log in.
  • Fill out the application form with all of the required information.
  • Upload your documents and pay your application fees online with a credit card, debit card, or net banking account.
  • When you’re finished, click the submit button.
  • Take a printout of the completed application form for future reference.
  • CLAT is a nationwide entrance exam for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes at India’s 22 National Law Universities. The Consortium of National Law Universities, which is made up of representative universities, organises CLAT.
