To fulfill the demands of the farmers’ movement, important steps are being taken by the Haryana government soon. The farmers are demanding that the cases registered against them during the agitation should be withdrawn. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has indicated to accept this demand. Manohar Lal Khattar said that he would sympathetically consider the demand of the farmers to withdraw the cases registered against them in the police during the year long agitation of the farmers.
Manohar Lal Khattar was asked about Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar’s statement that it is within the jurisdiction of the state governments to quash cases against farmers. Manohar Lal Khattar said that the farmers have not ended their agitation as they are still protesting in support of their other demands after the abrogation of three agriculture laws of the Centre. Khattar said, “When the farmers’ movement reaches the final stage, we will do whatever our government has to do on its part. However, he has not ended his movement yet. Bharatiya Janata Party’s Haryana unit chief Om Prakash Dhankhar has also indicated the return of cases registered against farmers. He said, “As the state BJP chief, I am saying that all these things will be considered.”
Agriculture Laws Repealed on Monday
Parliament on Monday passed the Agriculture Laws Repeal Bill, 2021 and repealed all three controversial agricultural laws. With this step of the central government, the problems of the Haryana government can be reduced.
