UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is on a tour of West UP today. First of all, he met the families who had gone after migrating to the town Kairana. After this he addressed the media. Targeting the Samajwadi Party, CM Yogi has said that Hindus were forced to migrate from Kairana.

CM Yogi said that in the early 1990s, towns like Kairana and Kandhla suffered the consequences of political criminalization and politicization of professional criminals. Here Hindu merchants and other Hindus were persecuted on a large scale and forced to migrate from here.

He further said, a new faith has been formed in the BJP rule. When I became the Chief Minister in 2017, there was a demand to deploy PMC battalion here. Today I myself have come here for the deployment of PMC Battalion. I have assured every person here that the policy of zero tolerance with which the government was working against criminals, the same policy will continue.

The issue of exodus of Hindus from Kairana had cropped up before the 2017 elections. The then BJP MP Hukum Singh had claimed exodus of Hindus from Kairana in June 2016. Hukum Singh had claimed that more than 300 Hindu families have fled Kairana out of fear. However, the Akhilesh government of that time had denied the exodus of Hindus. Let us inform that in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Kairana migration was a big issue. The issue of migration had benefited the BJP in the 2017 assembly elections.
