Diwali Muhurat Trading 2021: Investors had a great Diwali in the stock market. Sensex closed above 60 thousand in Muhurta trading. The Sensex closed at 60,067 points with a gain of 295 points, while the Nifty closed at 17,921 with a gain of 91.80 points. Buying was seen in 25 stocks in the Sensex. Bank Nifty rose on the back of buying in banking stocks.
Due to the reduction in excise duty, buying was also seen in the shares of oil companies. There was a boom in the market due to the reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel by the central government. Companies are expected to reduce costs, so investors bought heavily in auto stocks, logistics sector stocks. Midcap and small cap stocks also saw buying on Muhurta trading. Earlier, on Muhurta trading, Sensex opened at 60,130 with a jump of 360 points and Nifty opened at 17932 with a jump of 102 points. The market will be closed on Friday.
