On Thursday, police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district caught a bus driver who was moving poppy straw.
According to the police, a smuggling attempt was halted at the T-Chowk Check Point in the Banihal region when a bus traveling from Kashmir to Banihal was stopped for inspection.
“During the course of the investigation, 5 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle, and the driver, Paramjeet Singh of Garhi, Rambal, District Udhampur, was arrested,” police added.
They went on to say that a case had been filed and that an investigation had begun.
