Lipa is experiencing a massive brand moment courtesy to Balenciaga, after having ticked off 2021’s hottest names, from Maximilian Davis to Chet Lo, put countless plastic amazing jewellery labels on the map, and kept her followers in Emma Brewin caps.

Demna Gvasalia’s black essentials, tailoring, and costume jewellery have been a constant in Dua’s autumn wardrobe as she travels between Washington, Paris, and London. Dua’s Matrix-inspired makeover, which is more Berghain clubber than DC tourist, reveals a different side of the artist – a stripped-down version without all the bells and whistles of her customary Gen-Z attire. Dua Lipa’s favourite colour appears to be black.

Lipa, like many other celebrities, became engrossed in the buzz around Gvasalia’s brilliant spring/summer 2022 presentation, in which he allowed guests to walk the red carpet ahead of a special Balenciaga X The Simpsons episode. Dua channelled her inner Kim Kardashian – Balenciaga’s current poster girl – by doubling down on BB accessories during her trips, channelling the cyber-gothic styling of Amber Valletta, Naomi Campbell, and Isabelle Huppert on the paparazzi-lined runway. Dua said of her trip to Paris, “Sometimes you simply must get away for the weekend for food, wine, and friends.” A wardrobe update appears to be just as revitalising for Lipa as a change of scenery.
