HD Kumaraswamy, the former chief minister of Karnataka and a Janata Dal (S) leader, said on Tuesday that everyone knows the Congress and BJP have an internal agreement to end the JD (S).
Mr Kumaraswamy, speaking to the news agency ANI, said, “Everyone knows that the Congress and the BJP have an internal agreement to put the JD(S) party out of business. They have made considerable progress in coordinating with one another in each of the six constituencies in which we competed.”
In the recently ended MLC elections in Karnataka, 11 Congress candidates won their seats, while BJP candidate HS Gopinath Reddy won the Bengaluru City Constituency.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced that the BJP has won 11 seats and that “we have ordered a recount in Mysuru.”
Mr Kumaraswamy further stated that the JD(S) is concentrating its efforts on the Karnataka assembly elections in 2023.
The general elections in 2023 are our main emphasis (in Karnataka). We’re working on gaining the necessary strength. The results of the Karnataka Legislative Council elections don’t disturb us,” he continued.
