Kishori Pednekar, the mayor of Mumbai, has received a death threat and is planning to submit a police report.
Ms Pednekar, a Shiv Sena politician, was also threatened last year.
The Mayor has received a letter written in Marathi that contains profanity. There will be consequences if she messes with “Dada,” according to the letter.
Officers from Mumbai’s Byculla police station have arrived at the Mayor’s residence and have already begun an inquiry.
Ms Pednekar got a threat over the phone earlier this year. She told authorities that the caller said he was calling from Jamnagar, Gujarat, and threatened to murder her.
The offender was later apprehended in Gujarat by the police.
