In India, there are 8,954 new cases, with the highest recovery rate since March 2020

According to a Health Ministry bulletin, India recorded 8,954 new coronavirus cases and 267 related fatalities on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases to 3,45,96,776 and the death toll to 4,69,247.

During the same time period, there were 10,207 recoveries reported across the country. As a result, the national recovery rate has risen to 98.36%, the highest level since March 2020. There were 99,023 active cases in the country, accounting for 0.29 percent of all cases.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified a new Covid variation, ‘Omicron,’ as a variant of concern, causing widespread worry.

This month, the variation was discovered for the first time in South Africa. The novel strain has since been discovered in a number of European countries. The ‘Omicron’ variety is reported to be far more contagious than the Delta type.
