Ingka Centres, a subsidiary of the Ingka Group (which also includes IKEA Retail and Ingka Investments), has announced intentions to open its first retail centre in India in Gurugram.
“The estimated investment for the project is around €400 million (Rs. 3500 crores). While construction will start in early 2022, the new meeting place is expected to generate more than 2500 jobs and will contribute to further growth of organised retail in India,” said Ingka Centres.

Ingka Centres said in February that it had purchased a land in Noida, on the outskirts of Delhi, and planned to invest roughly 55 billion rupees in its first retail centre in India, but that it would open first in Gurugram.
In an interview, Andersen stated that the Noida store would open soon after Gurugram.
In 2018, IKEA launched its first shop in India in Hyderabad.
