According to the most recent numbers that were made available by the National Statistical Office (NSO), which is under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, the per capita income in India has doubled over the course of the last nine years, reaching a total of Rs 172,000.
For the fiscal year 2014–2015, the average income earned by each individual in the nation was Rs 86,647. (April 2014–March 2015).
The National Statistics Office (NSO) reported that the nominal per capita income has increased by about 99 percent (at current prices), but that there is still a significant problem with the unequal distribution of income.
In addition to this, it was said that the country’s average annual per capita income had improved by almost 35 percent in real terms (constant prices), going from 72,805 Indian rupees (approximately 891 dollars) in 2014–2015 to 98,118 Indian rupees (approximately 1,201 dollars) in 2022–23.
