Jennifer Bansiwal of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has accused producer Asit Kumar Modi of sexual harassment. In a new interview, the actress stated that all she wants from the producers is an apology.
Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who played Anjali Sodhi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for 15 years, has left the programme. The actress has accused Asit Kumar Modi, the producer of her sitcom, of sexual and mental abuse. Following the uproar, the actress stated in a recent interview that all she wants from the producers is an apology.
Jennifer Bansiwal, who has been outspoken about her troubles and ordeal in numerous interviews, has also filed a case. She stated that her complaint against the show’s producer and two others is not for monetary benefit. Jennifer, a 15-year member of TMKOC, stated that all she wants is an apology and that her struggle is for self-respect and justice.
During her interview with ANI, Jennifer discussed how the perpetrators must reflect on their actions. “The most important thing is that I’m not doing this for money; I’m doing it for truth and victory.” They must admit that they have wronged me and apologise with folded hands, saying, “We are sorry.” Because this is about my dignity and self-respect.”
Furthermore, the actress stated that she had merely accused producer Modi of verbal abuse. She said, “People are saying that Asit Modi had physical relations with me; I want to say that there is nothing like that. He just said verbal things to me.”
Following her accusations of sexual harassment against the makers, the actress revealed more in an exclusive chat with AajTak. Jennifer stated how the producers, particularly Asit, sought to exploit every scenario and sexual approach.
She recounted the events and stated, “From the beginning, Asit Ji used to say, “You are looking very nice.’ He once asked me, “What do you drink?” to which I boldly replied, “Whisky.” After this, he repeatedly asked me to come and drink whisky with him. Although it was jokingly said, things changed in 2019 when our entire team went to Singapore. During the trip, Asit asked me to come and drink whisky in his room. I was surprised to hear this from him. Then a day later, he said, “You are looking very beautiful; I feel like holding and kissing you. Hearing this, I trembled in fear.”
Bansiwal also discussed how she relied on her colleagues for assistance and filled in on occurrences that occurred with her.
