The Rajya Sabha’s sloganeering and disruptions over the suspension of 12 of its members continued on Wednesday, as the Lok Sabha passed the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Bill. Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya has introduced a bill in the Lower House that proposes the establishment of a national register and registration authority for clinics and medical professionals working in the business.

Suspended Rajya Sabha members staged a sit-in protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s monument in Parliament grounds. The administration has requested an apology from the lawmakers who have been suspended.

“It is sad that the Leader of the Opposition undermined the House’s dignity by making claims about the suspension of 12 Members of Parliament.” Piyush Goyal, the Rajya Sabha’s Leader of the House, has demanded that the suspended MPs apologise.
