Mukesh Ambani, family are not relocating to UK, says Reliance

Reliance Industries Limited said on Friday that a report stating that Mukesh Ambani, the company’s chairman, planned to live in the United Kingdom with his family was “unwarranted and false speculation.”

“The chairman and his family have no intentions to migrate or dwell in London or anyplace else in the world,” Reliance Industries Limited said in a statement.

Unnamed sources informed Mid-Day that Ambani and his family were likely to split their time in the future between London and Mumbai. At Antilia, Ambani lives with his family. The 27-story structure rises over Mumbai’s posh Altamount Road.

According to the publication, the Ambani family plans to make Stoke Park, a 300-acre country club in Buckinghamshire, their principal residence.

The Stoke Park property was purchased by Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings Limited earlier this year for Rs 592 crore.

The international conglomerate claimed in a statement that it bought the site to turn it into a premium golf and sporting resort.

“This acquisition will strengthen the group’s fast-growing consumer business,” according to the announcement. “At the same time, it will broaden the global footprint of India’s renowned hospitality business.”

According to Congress leader Gaurav Pandhi, the situation under the BJP government was so bad that Asia’s wealthiest man and his family were relocating to London. In a tweet, he wrote, “The hatred fostered by the BJP-RSS, spiteful politics, and misuse of institutions is eating everyone up.”

Following the announcement that Ambani was preparing to relocate to London, social media users slammed him.
