On Thursday, February 17, the University of Delhi will reopen its doors for face-to-face classes. The physical classes will be conducted in accordance with the Covid-19 SOPs. Meanwhile, some outstation students, particularly those in their final year, have urged that classes be conducted in a mixed manner. Some universities will provide hybrid programmes for first-year students, but second- and third-year students will be required to attend classes in person.
Outstation students have been affected by the change, and are scurrying to make travel and lodging arrangements. Some of them stated that examinations are approaching and that planning accommodations for only a few months is pointless.
The institution had previously issued a notice over the conduct of physical education sessions. Outstation students are recommended to organise their arrival in Delhi in such a way that they can complete the three-day isolation period before reporting to their respective Colleges / Departments, according to the DU directive.
The order stated that beginning February 17, 2022, the University Colleges/ Departments/ Centers’ Libraries/Laboratories and Canteens will operate under the COVID-19 standards given by the DDMA, MHA, MOHFW, and UGC.
To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Deans of Faculties/ Heads of Departments/ Principals of Colleges/ Directors of Institutions/Provosts of Hostels shall ensure that all teaching, non-teaching staff, and students follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour (wearing masks, maintaining social distance, regular hand washing, and use of sanitizers) at all times.
Colleges and Directors of Institutions/Provosts of Hostels must guarantee that the Departments/Colleges, Centers, and Hostels are properly ventilated and sanitised, according to the regulations.
The instruction also stated that Deans of Faculties/ Heads of Departments/ Principals of Colleges/ Directors of Institutions/Provosts of Hostels should urge teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as students, to get vaccinated as soon as possible. The Delhi University stated that this was released with the consent of the Competent Authority.
