Pakistani news networks, “Pak’s map” shall be aired before the news: Pak Govt.

Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government has issued a decree requiring Pakistani news stations to show the country’s political map on a regular basis. The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued a regulation mandating that the ‘Political Map of Pakistan’ be aired for two seconds before all news networks’ daily news briefings.

What is said in Pemra’s order?

According to Pemra’s regulation, both private and pakistani government news networks must show the country’s map for two seconds before the commencement of the news bulletin at 9 p.m. every day. “All news channels (both government and private) would have to show the map of Pakistan for 2 seconds before broadcasting the news bulletin at 9 p.m. daily,” the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority said in its ruling.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting highlighted the following in its letter:

Let us inform you that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was cited in the letter for the map’s display. Please inform them that Pemra is Pakistan’s media authority. Pemra has already been accused of enforcing a severe approach by issuing many decrees against press organisations.
