Petrol prices have been reduced the greatest in Punjab, which is governed by the Congress party. After the state government decreased the local sales tax or value added tax, Punjab has become the state with the most reduction in petrol costs (VAT). Odisha’s sales tax has been reduced by Rs 4.55 per litre, while Bihar’s has been reduced by Rs 3.21 per litre.
Diesel Price Cut
In Ladakh, the price of diesel has dropped the most. In Ladakh, the excise duty on fuel has been decreased by Rs 10 per litre, and the VAT has been reduced by Rs 9.52 per litre. Karnataka has lowered the VAT on diesel by Rs 9.30 per litre, while Puducherry has reduced it by Rs 9.02. Punjab has decreased diesel VAT by Rs 6.77 per litre, while Uttar Pradesh has reduced it by Rs 2.04 per litre. The VAT on fuel in Uttarakhand has been lowered by Rs 2.04 per litre, and the VAT on diesel in Haryana has also been decreased by Rs 2.04 per litre. Bihar has lowered the VAT on fuel by Rs 3.91 per litre, while Odisha has reduced it by Rs 5.69 per litre. The diesel tax in Madhya Pradesh has been reduced by Rs 6.96 per litre.
