A tragic road accident in southwest China’s Sichuan Province resulted in five fatalities and left another 16 individuals injured. The incident occurred on Thursday when a truck lost control, rolling over and colliding with a passenger bus. The accident unfolded at approximately 5 p.m. on Zhushi Road, located in Mama Town of Dazhu County within the city of Dazhou.
According to the Party publicity department of Dazhu County, the collision took place on a sloped section of the road. The passenger bus, which had a capacity of 30 seats, was carrying 20 individuals at the time, including the driver and the conductor. In contrast, the truck involved in the accident had only its driver on board.
Tragically, one person succumbed to their injuries at the accident scene, while four others later passed away in the hospital despite extensive medical efforts to save their lives. The remaining injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment in a hospital, with their injuries reported as non-life-threatening.
Preliminary investigations into the accident have revealed that the truck lost control while attempting a right turn on the downslope of the road, ultimately overturning onto the path of the bus, which was traveling in the opposite direction, going upslope. Authorities are continuing their investigations into the incident to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
