Salary of central employees will increase after one and a half months

In the new year, the Modi government at the centre can bring good news to its workers. Employees’ House Rent Perk (HRA) is now another allowance that the Modi government can boost. The government could make an announcement to raise it at any point in the new year. According to reports, this rise will go into effect in January of 2022. Employees’ Dearness Allowance (DA) was hiked to 31 percent before Diwali. Following that, this new gift will be accepted.

Speedy consideration of the offer

The debate of boosting HRA in central government ministries is heating up. In this context, the Finance Ministry has begun to consider the demand for the implementation of House Rent Allowance (HRA) for more than 11.56 lakh employees. The Railway Board has been notified of this proposal.

Employees will begin receiving HRA in January 2021 if the idea is accepted. As soon as these employees receive HRA, their salaries will skyrocket. HRA should be implemented on January 1, 2021, according to the Indian Railway Technical Supervisors Association (IRTSA) and the National Federation of Railwaymen (NFIR).

HRA is different in every city

House Rent Allowance (HRA) is divided into three categories: X, Y, and Z cities. That is, employees in the X category will now receive more than Rs 5400 in HRA every month. After that, a person in the Y class will receive Rs 3600 per month, while a person in the Z class will receive Rs 1800 per month in HRA. Cities with populations of more exceeding 50 lakhs are classified as X. HRA will be paid to central staff in certain cities at a rate of 27%. It will be 18% in Y category cities and 9% in Z category cities.
