Vinod Dua, a senior journalist, died on Saturday in Delhi at the age of 67. Mallika Dua, his daughter and an actress, confirmed his death on Instagram. The final rites for Vinod Dua will be performed today at the Lodhi crematorium.
Vinod Dua, our bold and magnificent father, has passed away, Mallika Dua said with a photo of her father. He had a one-of-a-kind existence, always speaking the truth and rising himself to the height of journalism brilliance for 42 years from Delhi’s refugee camps. He has now joined our mother, Chinna, in heaven, where they will continue to sing, cook, and travel for each other.
Dua was admitted to a Delhi hospital. He also had a COVID-19 infection earlier this year, which landed him in intensive care for many days. Mallika, who was brought to the hospital last week due to post-coronavirus symptoms, also provided an update on her health.
Vinod Dua was well-known for his work in the field of public interest journalism. He worked as a news anchor for numerous institutions, including Doordarshan, for many years. Vinod Dua’s wife, Dr. Padmavati Dua, died of coronavirus complications in June of this year. Chinna Dua was her popular moniker. “Last night she left us,” Mallika said on social media at the time, confirming the news. All of my heart, all of my life. The only god I’m familiar with. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to save you, my mother. My beloved mother, you fought a lot. That is my wish. You are the centre of my universe.
