Shahid Kapoor responds to allegations that ‘Bloody Daddy’ cost Rs 40 crore

After his performance in “Farzi” on Prime Video, Shahid Kapoor had an outstanding OTT debut. The actor, who has been experimenting with OTT, will soon be featured in Ali Abbas Zafar’s upcoming OTT film, “Bloody Daddy.” It was widely believed that Shahid had increased his fee and even charged Rs. 40 crore for “Bloody Daddy” following the success of “Kabir Singh” in 2019.

At the ‘Bloody Daddy’ trailer debut, when asked the same question regarding his fee increase, Shahid seemed astonished and jokingly requested the reporter to give him that kind of money and he would finish his movie. Aside from making a joke, director Ali Abbas Zafar remarked, “You said less.”

When asked if the producers were successful in obtaining an OTT agreement that fit their budget, Shahid Kapoor responded, “Nahi sir, humne sabko bhade mein leke Jio ko free mein de diya picture.”

According to the film’s creators, the streaming service covered all of their costs. Shahid continued, “Acha Dekho, yaha pe jo teen log baithe hai, kya hum dukhi lag rahe hai? (Are the three people sitting here looking unhappy to you?) Are we looking unhappy? Please tell us. Mathematics pe matt ghuso.”

At the premiere of the ‘Bloody Daddy’ teaser, Shahid Kapoor also discussed how the concept for the movie evolved to deliver the theatre experience on an OTT platform.

Diana Penty, Sanjay Kapoor, Ronit Roy, and Rajeev Khandelwal also play significant parts in “Bloody Daddy.”

According to reports, “Bloody Daddy” is the authorised translation of the 2011 French film “Nuit Blanche.” The original was also made into a 2015 Tamil movie starring Kamal Haasan called “Thoonga Vanam.” Ali Abbas Zafar and Shahid Kapoor work together for the first time in this movie.
