A big meeting of leaders of opposition parties was held on Tuesday at 10 Janpath, residence of Congress President Sonia Gandhi in Delhi. Leaders of like-minded opposition parties had gathered at one place to discuss the current political situation. Leaders like NCP President Sharad Pawar, National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, DMK MPs TR Balu, Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal and Rahul Gandhi were present in the meeting.

After the meeting, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that this is the first such group. More such groups will be created in future. He said, “There was a meeting of the opposition. There was a meeting for the unity of the opposition. We discussed about the proceedings of the Parliament. We will not apologise. There was talk on the unity of the opposition. The states will work together.”

Farooq Abdullah said, “There was talk on the unity of the opposition. The problems of the country were discussed. The UPA will be more strong. How can we work together? How can we get this country out of trouble?” TR Balu also said after the meeting that the unity of the opposition has been discussed.
