Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has launched a special scheme called ‘Shikara,’ which intends to offer funding for the purchase of new shikaras as well as the repair and upkeep of existing shikaras and houseboats through collateral-free term loans that may be repaid in seven years via EMI.
