The Russian Foreign Minister will arrive in India tomorrow, ahead of Putin’s visit

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit India on December 5-6 and will take part in a two-way ministerial dialogue between the two countries, ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit.

“On the 5th and 6th of December, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit India. He will meet with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and participate in the 2 2 Ministerial Dialogue between India and Russia during his visit “the Ministry of External Affairs stated (MEA).

The agenda for the “two plus two” format meeting between India and the Russian Federation, which is slated for December 6, will address “political and defence matters of common interest,” according to MEA spokeswoman Arindam Bagchi.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu will represent Russia, while External Affairs Minister (EAM) Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will represent India.

On December 6, Putin will arrive in New Delhi for the annual India-Russia summit.

This will be Putin’s first face-to-face encounter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi since their November 2019 meeting in Brasilia on the margins of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) summit.
