The day after “bareheaded photos” of a Pakistani model “India summoned Pakistan’s top envoy to express “deep concern” over the incident at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, which generated a controversy.
On Monday, a clothing business shared images of model Sauleha from a shoot at the Kartarpur Sahib on Instagram. After several people on social media pointed out that the ‘bareheaded’ images offended the Sikh community, the model deleted the photos and apologised on her Instagram profile.
Arindam Bagchi, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), said on Twitter on Tuesday that India has informed Pakistan that the “reprehensible act has profoundly wounded the sensibilities of the Sikh community in India.” And all across the globe.
“Such continued incidents of desecration and disrespect of places of religious worship of the minority communities in Pakistan highlight the lack of respect for the faith of these communities,” the post said.
