Today is an All-Party Meeting, the day before Parliament’s Winter Session begins

The revocation of farm laws will be one of the main topics discussed at today’s all-party conference, which is expected to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi a day before the start of Parliament’s Winter Session.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., and will most likely include discussions about price increases as well as the farmers’ demand for a formal guarantee that Minimum Support Prices will be raised.

The government’s bill to repeal the farm laws will be introduced and debated in the Lok Sabha on Monday, the opening day of the session.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will introduce the bill in the House.

Both the ruling BJP and the main opposition Congress have issued whips to their MPs requiring them to be present on the day of the election.

“Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will seek permission to introduce a Bill to repeal the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation Act), 2020, the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020, and to amend the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. In addition to introducing the bill, “The Lok Sabha’s business for November 29 is as follows:

The BJP’s parliamentary executive meeting will take place the same evening. Around 3 p.m., the NDA floor leaders are expected to convene.

Farmers called off their’sansad chalo,’ or’march to Parliament,’ on Saturday following a meeting of the farmers’ front Samyukt Kisan Morcha. They stated that they will wait until December 4 to make their next choice.

In a surprise U-turn last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated the farm regulations will be pulled back and ordered farmers to stand down and return home, which they refused.

Farmers claim that the agitation will continue until the laws are fully repealed and all requests are addressed, including a legal guarantee for MSP.
