According to the report of news agency PTI, three cities of the state Amaravati, Nanded and Nashik were scorched in the flames of this violence on Friday. The call for bandh and protests in Nanded took a violent turn on Friday. Efforts were made by the miscreants to close the shops forcibly, after which the police team that reached the spot was pelted with stones. Due to this incident, there was an atmosphere of tension in Shivajinagar area for some time.

Stone pelting took place in Maharashtra’s Amravati on Friday, after which tension spread in many parts of the area. According to the report of news agency PTI, a protest call was given by some organizations against the violence in Tripura last month. During the protest, some unidentified persons pelted stones at the shops, creating a tense atmosphere. A senior police officer said that stones were pelted at shops by mischievous elements at Jayab Square. After the incident, a case has been registered on the complaint of the shopkeepers.

PTI quoted the police as saying that in Amravati city, more than eight thousand people had gathered outside the district collector’s office to submit a memorandum. In this memorandum, there was a demand to stop the atrocities against the minority community. A police officer said that when people were returning after handing over the memorandum, incidents of stone pelting took place at three places between Chitra Chowk and Cotton Bazaar. In Mumbai too, the Raza Academy had called for a Mumbai bandh over the Tripura violence. On this call, the Muslim community had kept its shops closed.

A mob of unruly elements pelted stones in Nashik, Amravati and Nanded districts of Maharashtra on Friday in protest against the recent violence in Tripura, police said. Two policemen have been injured in this violence in Nanded. Nanded SP Pramod Kumar said that a dharna was organized in Nanded on behalf of Raza Academy in which the participating youths pelted stones at the police. The police chased them away using appropriate force. Violence took place at three to four places in the city. Case is being registered. At present there is peace in Nanded.

According to a PTI report, an incident of stone pelting took place during a protest march in the sensitive town of Malegaon in Nashik district on Friday afternoon. According to news agency ANI, Nashik SP Sachin Patil told that there is peace in Malegaon now. On Friday evening, some people pelted stones at three to four shops. Police is taking legal action regarding stone pelting by miscreants. People are requested not to spread any false information. Strict action will be taken for doing so.
