Ukraine war: The list of casualties hit rock bottom

Over four official attacks were recorded this week, with the last one killing an 11-year-old girl and two adult women. This was the third consecutive night that Kyiv was attacked at night. As the attack ensued, people ran to take refuge in the bomb shelters in the capital city, Kyiv. However, it has been reported that the bomb shelter was locked, which led to the aforementioned casualties and left numerous others wounded.

Emotions have been running amok online due to the devastation the war has caused so far. It was reported that two young children had been killed in the recent attack; however, this report has been debunked and thus revised.

Many of the attacks happen at night, which is why the residents of Kyiv have a curfew between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Often, people out of their homes or shelters are reprimanded for breaking the curfew, and despite being a warzone, most of the criminal activity and rendezvous are reported to be happening at night. This has been discouraged and is prohibited.

Recently, Russia has been using kamikaze drones and ballistic missiles to attack Ukraine. Kyiv has been heavily targeted, and analysts believe that Russia is trying to diminish the resources in the capital city and deplete Ukraine’s air defences. All this has been happening ahead of a long-expected counteroffensive strategy, which President Zelenskyy revealed.
