Vehicle from Imran Khan’s convoy to Islamabad overturns enroute

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan left for Islamabad from his home in Zaman Park in Lahore to appear in the court at Islamabad.

While travelling, a vehicle in Imran Khan’s convey overturned however Khan’s vehicle remained safe. Three vehicles in the former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan’s convoy collided close to Kallar Kahar and rescue workers are shifting the injured to a nearby hospital.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party’s Chairman left for Islamabad to appear before the court in connection with the Toshakhana case (gift depository) on Saturday. Khan’s case will be presided by Judge Zafar Iqbal according to a report by Express Tribune.

Considering the former Prime Minister’s concerns about security, the hearing’s location had been shifted from the F-8 Katcheri to the G-11 Court Complex.

In a video shared on the PTI’s official Twitter account, Imran Khan says, “I am on my way to Islamabad court. Unfortunately, I am running slightly late due to an accident. I want you to know that they had plan readied to arrest me which betrays their ill intentions.”

He also tweeted: “It is now clear that, despite my having gotten bail in all my cases, the PDM govt intends to arrest me. Despite knowing their malafide intentions, I am proceeding to Islamabad & the court because I believe in rule of law.”
