Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar will be the new Chief of the Navy

The next Navy Chief will be Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar. He is currently the Western Naval Command’s Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief. From November 30, he will be in charge. The incumbent Chief of the Navy, Admiral Karambir Singh, will step down on November 30. Hari Kumar, who was born on April 12, 1962, has held numerous important roles, including Vice Chief of Defense Staff, Chief of Personnel, and Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet. He has served as the Commandant of the Naval War College in Goa as well as the Naval Advisor to the Shechles Government.

He graduated from Mumbai University with an MPhil in Defense and Strategic Studies. Kumar attended Mannam Memorial Residential High School in Trivandrum, Kerala, for his early education. After that, he attended Government Arts College in Thiruvananthapuram for a pre-degree programme. In 1979, he completed 61 courses at the National Defense Academy and was assigned to the Juliet Squadron. In 1981, he received his diploma from NDA.

At 1996, he enrolled in the US Naval War College’s Naval Staff Course in Newport, Rhode Island. He graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru University with a bachelor’s degree and went on to King’s College London for his master’s degree. He also attended the Army Higher Command Course at the Army War College in 2004 and the Royal College of Defense Studies in 2009 for professional training. He graduated from Mumbai’s Narottam Morarji Institute of Shipping with a Post Graduate Diploma in Shipping Management.

Vice Admiral R. Hari Kumar has received numerous awards

R Hari Kumar has received the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, and the Vishisht Seva Medal thus far. In 1983, he was commissioned into the Navy. In INS Ranjit, he was awarded the rank of artillery officer. He was also the Executive Officer of the Indian Navy’s INS Vipul. He has also served on the Indian Navy’s INS Viraat. He worked in the Civil and Military Operations Center in Mogadishu during the second phase of the UN operation in Somalia, from December 1992 to June 1993. Kala Nair is R Hari Kumar’s wife, and the couple has a daughter. Swimming and badminton are two of R Hari Kumar’s favourite activities.
