Maharashtra Government Pledges Enhanced Support for Child Rights, Announces Comprehensive Child Development Schemes

In a significant move towards strengthening child rights and development, Maharashtra’s Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare announced the State’s commitment to providing maximum support for the funding and fortification of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. This declaration came during an award ceremony at the Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan Auditorium, signaling a renewed focus on child welfare in the state.

The ceremony, a joint effort by Hope for Children India, Pune, the Department of Women and Child Development, Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, UNICEF, and Commuted Communities Development Trust (CCDT), recognized individuals and organizations contributing to child welfare. Underlining the importance of education for children, Minister Tatkare stated that the government is actively implementing various schemes with a special focus on Child Reform Home, Women and Child Development Commissionerate, and Integrated Child Development Commissionerate. Furthermore, Minister Tatkare emphasized the government’s dedication to the development of the State Commission for Women and the Maharashtra Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
