PM Modi and Australian Deputy PM Richard Marles to attend the India-Australia World Cup cricket final, with extensive security and logistical arrangements in place.

The much-anticipated World Cup cricket final between India and Australia, set to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, will see the attendance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles. This high-profile attendance is set to add a significant diplomatic dimension to the already electrifying cricketing event scheduled for Sunday.

In preparation for this major sporting event, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conducted a high-level meeting in Gandhinagar on Friday. The meeting focused on overseeing security and other necessary arrangements for the match, according to an official release. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles will attend the match on Sunday. Chief Minister Patel reviewed security and other arrangements with top officials,” the release stated.

In light of the VVIP attendance and the expected massive influx of cricket fans, police officials have briefed the Chief Minister about the comprehensive security arrangements. A deployment of 4,500 personnel is planned to ensure the security of the ground, teams, VIPs, and to manage traffic effectively.

Understanding the impact of such a large-scale event on the local populace, Chief Minister Patel has instructed officials to minimize inconvenience to the common people due to VIP movement. He emphasized the need for advanced public communication regarding road closures and diversions.

Additionally, for the convenience of fans coming from various parts of the country and abroad, the Chief Minister has directed officials to increase the frequency of metro trains running towards Motera station, which is in close proximity to the stadium.

Both the Indian and Australian cricket teams have arrived in the city, with the Indian team reaching on Thursday evening and the Australian team on Friday. The Indian team held a practice session at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday, gearing up for the high-stakes match.

In a spectacular addition to the event, the renowned Surya Kiran aerobatics team of the Indian Air Force is scheduled to perform an air show before the game on Sunday. This air show is expected to add an extra layer of excitement and grandeur to the already eagerly awaited cricket final.

The World Cup cricket final between India and Australia is not just a showcase of top-level cricket but also a significant event in terms of international relations and local administration. The presence of high-ranking officials from both India and Australia signifies the importance of sports in fostering diplomatic ties. At the same time, the elaborate security and logistical arrangements reflect the efforts of the local administration to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
